EBT Academy and Rosa Skrot are launching a new personal trainer training program that delves into women's health through different life stages. The initiative combines PT and dietitian expertise with specialized sessions on exercise during pregnancy, postpartum and through menopause.
Training designed by women - for women
EBT Academy is presenting the training together with Rosa Skrot, a women-only gym concept based in Södermalm. One of the people in charge is Elsa Boqvist, gym manager and PT, who highlights the need for more targeted knowledge in the industry.
"We have long recognized that the industry needs more understanding of women's physiology, needs and life stages. This is the education I wish I had when I started as a PT ten years ago, because it's not just about muscles and programs, but about understanding women's bodies, their challenges and strengths. This is the future of PT training," she says.
Practical sessions at Rosa Scrap and online theory
The training is delivered through practical sessions at Rosa Skrot and theoretical sections delivered online. It comprises 200 instructor-led hours and combines exercise theory, dietary advice and specialized sections on exercise during and after pregnancy and through menopause.
Omar Kaakati, a specialist in internal medicine and co-founder of the EBT Academy, describes the approach.
"The practical part of the training takes place at Rosa Skrot in Södermalm in Stockholm, while the theory lessons are held online in the evenings - a flexible approach that is also suitable for professionals. We are incredibly proud to be able to launch an education that really puts women's health at the center. This is not just a PT course, but a step towards a more inclusive and evidence-based fitness industry," he says.
